Clementine and Claudia by Piper Milton (review by Cathy)

About the book:

The First World War is raging and sisters Clementine and Claudia are coping in very different ways. Clementine is a nurse on the front line, doing her best to save the lives of soldiers wounded while serving their country.

Claudia, on the other hand, is living the good life in England, deliberately oblivious to the horrors her sister and so many others are living through. When they both meet their perfect man, their already fractured relationship is tested in ways they could never imagine.

My review:

I thoroughly enjoyed this debut novel by Piper Milton.  The characters were well developed and the story moved at a great pace.  The First World War served as the perfect backdrop in the book.

While Clementine is serving on the front line as a nurse, her sister, Claudia is intent to marry for security.

They are soon caught up in a web of lies and deception spanning several years.  The men they love are wonderful and honorable and willing to do the best they can in uncertain times.  They make sacrifices for the war and for the ones they love.

The author writes of love found and love lost and she does it as well as some well-known authors.

I received a copy from Netgalley for my honest opinion.
